Chicken Satay in Honey with Bami Goreng, Carrots, Chop Suey, and Broccoli

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Satay:

  • 500g chicken breast or thigh, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Skewers

For the Bami Goreng (Fried Noodles):

  • 250g egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the Vegetables (Carrots, Chop Suey, Broccoli):

  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup chop suey mix (cabbage, bell pepper, etc.)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chicken Satay:

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, peanut butter, garlic powder, ginger, and oil.
  2. Add the chicken strips, coat well, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
  4. Grill or pan-fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

2. Make the Bami Goreng:

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, sauté garlic and onions until fragrant.
  3. Add the carrots, bell peppers, and bean sprouts, stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss well and cook for another 2 minutes.

3. Cook the Vegetables:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, sauté carrots and broccoli for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the chop suey mix and stir-fry for another minute.
  3. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch slurry. Stir well and cook until slightly thickened.

4. Serve:

  • Arrange the bami goreng, vegetables, and chicken satay on a plate.
  • Drizzle extra honey over the chicken satay if desired.
